Russell Gofus, Houck Funeral Home director and owner, worked for the Houck Funeral Home during his high school years. Russell is a 1982 graduate of Pottstown High School and a Northampton County Area Community College School of Funeral Service graduate. He served his professional funeral service internship under the supervision of Herbert F. Houck. In 1986, Russell and his wife, Amber, moved to southern Chester County, Pa. and over a 12 year span of time purchased three established funeral homes. They operated them until 1988, when they decided to move back to Pottstown to be closer to family.
